Albert E Legg
Albert Edward Legg was born in Penarth in 1897. In 1911 he was employed as an office boy for a coal merchant and lived at 2 Hill Terrace, Penarth with his parents Fredrick and Amelie Legg and siblings Fredrick, Winefred and Ivy. Albert served in the 8th Battalion, the Royal Welsh Fusiliers and his rank was Private (service number 12496). He died of wounds at Gallipoli on 16th August 1915 and is commemorated on Panel 77 to 80., Helles Memorial.
