David Edward Abbott
David Edward Abbott was born in Penarth on 1st February 1896. He was the son of David and Clara Abbott and brother of Gladys and Olga. He was admitted to Albert Road School in 1900 when his address was 129 Windsor Road. David was a member of Albert Road Wesleyan Sunday School, a worker in the Boys Brigade and a member of the Albert Road Church choir. In 1911 the family lived at 9 Railway Terrace, Penarth. David served in the 8th Service Battalion, the South Staffordshire Regiment and was killed in action on 24th or 25th August 1915 aged 19.
