George E Maddocks
George Edgar Maddocks was born in Birmingham in 1898, the son of George and Caroline Maddocks. In 1911 he was living at 71 Windsor Road, Penarth with his mother Caroline Maddocks and sisters May and Florence. George served in the 4th Glamorgan Company, the Royal Garrison Artillery with the rank of (service number 348201). He died of wounds on 26th April 1917 aged 19 and is buried at Achiet-Le-Grand Communal Cemetery Extension.
