Percival Hoult

Percival Charles Hoult was born in Penarth in 1898 and was the brother of Douglas and Rupert. In 1911 he was a farm labourer and lived at Main Street, Bretfordon, Honeybourne, Worcestershire with his grandparents Charles and Esther Tomkins and his brother Ernest Hoult. The 1901 census shows his father George and brother Douglas living at 59 Grove Terrace and Percival living with an aunt and uncle. Percival served in the 75th Brigade, the Royal Horse Artillery and Royal Field Artillery with the rank of Gunner (service number 13844). He was killed in action on 17th October 1915 when laying a wire and a shell burst close by. He is buried at I. G. 11., Vermelles British Cemetery.
