Regindald S Wakeford

Francis Reginald Steele Wakeford was born in Penarth in 1893, the son of Herbert Steele and Mary Wakeford. He was baptised on 20th September 1893. Reginald was registered twice in the 1911 census. He is recorded as living at 54 Clive Place with his parents Herbert and Mary, brother Charles and sisters Gwendoline, Beatrice and Violet. His occupation is given as a clerk. Francis Reginald Steele, a clerk, was also registered at the home of his aunt and uncle Charles and Olivia Wakeford of St Andrews, Dinas Powis. He served in the Glamorgan Yeomanry, the Royal Engineers, Household Cavalry and Cavalry of the Line (incl. Yeomanry and Imperial Camel Corps) and Royal Air Force. His rank was Lieutenant. Francis died on 25th December 1918 and is buried in grave B105 at North-West door of Church, Penarth (St. Augustine of Hippo) Churchyard.
