Theophilus Jones
Theophilus Jones was born in Newport, Monmouthshire in 1893. In 1901 he was living at 74 Clive Road, Barry with his parents Richard and Annie Jones, his siblings William, Annie, Alexander, Flora, Charles, Agnes and Mary and his grandmother Ann Jones. By 1911 the family had moved to 6 Harriet Street, Cogan and Theophilus lived there with his parents, Richard and Ann and siblings Charles, Agnes, Mary, George and Thomas. He was a railway worker. Theophilus died in Sierra Leone in 1916 aged 21 (so year of birth 1895). Charles Leonard Jones, possibly his brother, is commemorated on St Paul’s Roll of Honour.
