Thomas Thorne
Thomas Thorne was born in Cogan in 1897. In 1911 he lived at 32 Hewell Street, Cogan with his parents James and Annie Thorne and siblings William, Charlie, Lily and Annie. He was an errand boy in a fruit shop. Thomas served in the 1st Battalion, the Welsh Guards with the rank of Private (service number 3988). He was killed in action on 6th November 1918 and is buried at C. 51., Maubeuge-Centre Cemetery.
