William H Lamperd
William Henry Lamperd was born in Penarth in 1891. In 1911 he was an assistant in a bake shop and lived at 1 Harriet Street, Cogan with his parents John and Kate Lamperd. William served in 1st/14th (County of London) Battalion (London Scottish), the London Regiment and his rank was Private (service number 515864). He was killed in action on 24th November 1917 and is commemorated on Panel 11 and 12.Cambrai Memorial, Louverval and grave 115 in St Dochdwy’s churchyard.
