Talk by Chris Riley

On 22nd February 2018 Chris Riley will give a talk on the controversial last Rector of the ‘old’ church and first Rector of the ‘new’ church, Charles Parsons.  7pm in the Parish Hall, Albert Road. Cost is £5 (£4 for Friends)


The Friends of St Augustine’s AGM will take place on 19th April  2018 at 7pm in the Parish Hall. All welcome

Marking the 100th Anniversary of end of WW1.

  1. Jonathan Hicks will speak on his book ‘Wales and the First Air War 1914 – 1918’ on 26th May
  2. Aled Eirug will speak on ‘Opposition to the Great War in south Wales’ on 14th June

Both these talks will take place at 7pm in the Parish Hall, Albert Road.  The cost for each talk is £5 (£4 for Friends)

This will take place at St Augustine’s during the afternoon and early evening of Sunday, 23rd April.

Penarth Footprints

A talk by Alan Thorne on Penarth notables including 4 brewers on Saturday 25th August at 7pm in the Parish Hall.

Coates Carter in Penarth

On 8th September, starting at 10am, Dr Phil Thomas will lead a tour and talk about Coates Carter’s buildings in Penarth. The cost will be £15 for the talk, coffee and lunch.  Transport will be provided for those who would find the walking difficult.  To book, please contact Tricia Griffiths on 02920 707828.

Oxford Male Voice Choir

On Saturday 29th September at 7pm in St Augustine’s Church, the Oxford Male Voice Choir, accompanied by the Risca Male Choir will give a concert to celebrate the Choir’s 90th birthday.  Tickets £10 from Griffin Books, Windsor Arcade or Eventbrite online.

Quiz Night

On Thursday 29th November at 7pm in the Parish Hall there will be a quiz and light refreshments.  Cost will be £7.  All are welcome.
