On Thursday 3rd November, about 50 people came to the Parish Hall on a wet evening to hear the well-known local historian Alan Thorne give a talk on ‘Notable Penarthians’.

The evening didn’t quite go as planned as Alan had lost his voice!  The talk was read for him (with difficulty!) by John Guilfoyle who also provides the illustrations for Alan’s talks.

The audience was appreciative of the ‘Alan and John Show’ which told the stories of some of the possibly lesser-known men and women who made notable contributions to the life and history of our town.
