Trad Jazz Concert

On Saturday 18th July there was a first for St Augustine’s – a concert of traditional jazz by Tudor’s Rhythm Kings.

This concert was arranged in conjunction with the Penarth Marina Residents Association and is one of the events organised to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the opening of Penarth Docks.

The Docks were built by the Earl of Plymouth. The old church of St Augustine was demolished and the present church built one year later. The building was paid for by the Countess of Plymouth.

Tudor’s Rhythm Kings treated us to a feast of traditional jazz and there was also plenty of opportunity for visitors to look around St Augustine’s.

We hope there will be more opportunities to work with the Penarth Marina Residents Association in the future.
