William J. B. John
William James Burman John was born on the 5th May 1919, the son of John and Mabel John of Penarth. In 1939, Mabel, now a widow, Reginald D, William J, and Hazel M John lived at 27 Mountjoy Avenue.
William served in the Merchant Navy as Fourth Engineer Officer aboard S.S. Mill Hill (Newcastle-on-Tyne). He died on the 30th August 1940 aged 21 and is commemorated on the Tower Hill Memorial, Panel 70.
