Bat and Moth Evening

Posted in the Events Category

By popular demand, the South and West Wales Wildlife Trust will be running a Bat and Moth Evening at St Augustine’s on Saturday 8th September.  This will start at 8.30pm and continue until late.

You will be lent a bat detector to hear the sounds made by the bats as they fly around the churchyard feeding on the insects in the air.

There is also a chance to see the many different types of moths that live there.  They are caught in a large moth trap so they can be identified before being freed to continue their lives in the foliage.

If you would like to come to the Bat and Moth Evening please contact Meg on 01656 724100 or e-mail m.howells@welshwildlife.org.  There is no charge for the evening but the Wildlife Trust would like to have an idea of how many people to expect.

If you are coming to the evening please bring a torch, wear suitable outdoor clothes and sturdy footwear.

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
