The evening of Friday 6th October 2017 saw about 120 people enjoy an evening with the Flanders Recorder Quartet at St Augustine’s.  Playing instruments of all sizes, one over 6 feet long, the Quartet treated us to music from about 1400 to the 1980s.  If you closed your eyes you could, at times, imagine yourself in a Mediaeval court.

Joined for part of the evening by well-known recorder player James Brookmyre the concert was part of their final world tour as the group, formed in 1987, is disbanding at the end of 2018. This was their first and last concert in Wales bringing to 63 the number of countries they have played in.
