On Sunday 25th August 2019, a lovely sunny afternoon, more than 60 people came to St Augustine’s to hear Robert Court give an organ recital.  Bach, Vaughan Williams, Samuel Sebastian Wesley and Joseph Parry were among the composers whose works were played by Robert.

The concert was followed by a tea of sandwiches, bara brith, Welsh cakes and biscuits.

At 6pm there was a Patronal Festal Evensong celebrating the feast day of St Augustine of Hippo, patron saint of the church.  A congregation of about 30 enjoyed the service led by the Rev. Rose Hill with Robert Court and the St Augustine’s Singers providing the music. This was followed by the opportunity to enjoy a glass of beer in honour of St Augustine, the patron saint of brewers.  The beer was kindly donated by The Bottle Shop in Penarth.
