Patronal Festival and Butterfield Day

On Sunday 4th September you are invited to celebrate St Augustine of Hippo and William Butterfield.

St Augustine of Hippo, whose feast day is 28th August, is the patron saint of the church.

William Butterfield, who was born on 7th September 1814,  is the architect who designed this Grade 1 listed building.

Programme for the day is:

10.45am Patronal Festival Service.  This is the usual Sunday Holy Eucharist Service with a special emphasis on St Augustine.

In the afternoon The Friends of St Augustine’s have arranged a talk by Dr. Chris Riley at 2.30pm entitled William Butterfield, Lady Windsor and the building of St Augustine’s.

This will be followed by Open Church at 3.30pm  – tours and tea

Come along and find out more about Penarth’s only Grade 1 listed building.

Admission is free.  Donations are welcome!
