John H. Bendon
John Hartley Bendon was born on 23rd September 1920, the son of Walter and Ann Anita Bendon. In 1939, Walter, an incapacitated coach builder, now widowed, lived at 7 John Street with Mary, born 1915, Teresa, born 1918 and John who was employed as a clerk in a local government office.
John served in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve with the rank of Sergeant (Wireless Op/Air Gunner). His service number was 1258097. John died on 12th September 1941 aged 20. He is buried in Penarth Cemetery Sec. F. Grave 152.
