Thomas W. Eley
Thomas William Eley was born in 1911, the son of Herbert Samuel and Mary Ann Eley, of Penarth. He was baptised at St Dochdwy’s Church, Llandough on 26th January 1911. The family, Herbert, Mary and their children Eileen aged 2, John aged 1 and Thomas lived at Hazelhurst, Andrew Road, Cogan Pill.
Thomas served in the Royal Navy as a Leading Seaman aboard H.M.S. Hunter. His service number was D/JX 127776. Thomas died on 19th April 1940 aged 28 and is buried in Ballangen New Cemetery, British Plot IV. C. 10.
