Lawrence Godfrey
Lawrence Godfrey was born in 1915, the son of Henry Walter and Mary Emily Godfrey of Penarth. In 1939, Mary Emily and Kenneth Godfrey lived at 83 Cornerswell Road.
Lawrence served in the Royal Armoured Corps, 2nd Royal Gloucestershire Hussars. His rank was Trooper and his service number 7894651. Lawrence was killed in action on 7th June 1942 aged 27 and is commemorated on the Alamein Memorial, Column 26.
