John R. Cox
John Robert Cox was born in 1911, the son of Charles William and Lena A Cox of Penarth. He married S. Iris. In 1939 Charles and Lena Cox lived at 29 Windsor Terrace.
John served in the King’s Own Royal Regiment (Lancaster), attd. 6th Rajput Regiment with the rank of Major. His service number was 70659. John died on the 5th April 1944 aged 34 and is commemorated on the Alamein Memorial Column 57.
