John O Boole

John was born in Rainford, Lancs in 1892. In 1911 he was an engineering apprentice living at 75 Plymouth Road, Penarth with his mother Kate Eliza Boole. Brothers PAC Boole in RGA, L Boole, a teacher was in Germany and interned in Ruhleshen Camp where he taught the POWs French, Latin and Greek. John was a marine engineer at sea on outbreak of war. He joined RFC in 1918 and gained his wings. Member of All Saints Church. All brothers were members of Penarth Lawn Tennis Club (from ‘Penarth Times’.) John served as a Second Lieutenant in the Royal Air Force and was killed in a flying accident on 9th July 1918. He is buried in grave C. 494 in Penarth Cemetery.
