Ernest W. Bartlett

Ernest W Bartlett was born in Penarth in 1886, the son of Frank and Mary Bartlett of 12 Dock Street and the husband of Kate who later become Mrs Cribb. Ernest and Kate Bartlett had 3 children. In 1901 he lived at 57 Ludlow Street with his parents, siblings Francis, Ethel, Gladys and Stanley and his cousin Blanche Brown and worked as grocer’s errand boy. Ernest served in the 2nd Battalion, the Gloucestershire Regiment and died at the age of 29 on 15th May 1915.
