William R Radford
William Richard Radford was born in Cogan in 1900. In 1911 he was living at 38 Maughan Street, Penarth with his parents Richard and Susan Radford and siblings Gladys, Hattie, Jannett, Richard, Ida and Florence. William served in the Mercantile Marine Reserve as an Ordinary Seaman aboard H.M.S. “Victory”. (service number 876826). He died on 31st January 1919 aged 18 and is buried in grave D. 12. 12., Penarth (St. Augustine of Hippo) Churchyard (G65).
