William G Langford

William George Langford was born in Penarth in 1890. He may have been the son of Benjamin and Cecilia Langford and brother of Beatrice, Benjamin, Charles, Hilda, Mabel and Ralph of 8 John Street, Penarth. He was the husband of Mrs. F. B. Styn (formerly Langford), of 1, Wainfact St., Caerphilly, Cardiff.(information from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website). William served in “D” Battery. 168th Brigade ,the Royal Horse Artillery and Royal Field Artillery and his rank was Gunner (service number 25317). He was killed in action on 7th June 1917 and is buried at P. 6., Pond Farm Cemetery.
