Fred W G Avery Uden

Frederick William Garnal Avery Uden was born in Cardiff in 1892 and was baptised at St Dyfrig, Cardiff on 21st February 1892, the son of Frederick, a labourer, and Sarah Jane Uden of 11 Rudland Street. In 1901 he was living at 5 Herbert Terrace with his uncle and aunt, Frank and Mary East. He was still living there in 1911 with Frank and Mary East and his cousin Gilbert and was employed as a carpenter. Frederick served in “E” Special Company, the Corps of Royal Engineers with the rank of Corporal (service number 143044). He died on 12th July 1917 and is buried at III. C. 25., Roclincourt Military Cemetery. He formerly served in the South Staffordshire Regiment (service number 13423).
