J Trevor Rees
John Trevor Rees was born in Penarth in 1894. He was the son of Dr John Hugh and Blanche Rees and brother of Marjorie, Charles and Geoffrey. In 1911 the family lived in Holmesdale Place. Trevor served in the 1st Battalion, the Royal Welsh Fusiliers and his rank was Second Lieutenant. He was killed in action on 22nd January 1915 aged 21 and is buried at G. 2., Bois-Grenier Communal Cemetery.
