W Melbourne Lee

William Melbourne Lee was born in Penarth in 1889. In 1911 he was working as an insurance clerk and lived at 34 Plassey Street, Penarth with his parents Sidney and Esther Lee and brother Sidney. William served in 298th Army Brigade, the Royal Horse Artillery and Royal Field Artillery with the rank of Second Lieutenant. He was killed in action on 21st March 1918 and is commemorated on Panel 7 to 10., Pozieres Memorial.
