C De Clare Yeld

Cyril De Clare Yeld was born in Sunderland in 1882, the son of Richard and Emily Yeld (nee Common). In 1911 he was an accountant’s clerk and lived with his mother at 31 Cwrt-y-Vil Road. In 1901 Emily, a widow, and her three sons Cyril, a school teacher and his brothers Gilbert and Douglas lived at 4 Station Road. Cyril served as a Second Lieutenant and was attached to the Supply and Transport Corps, the Indian Army Reserve of Officers. He died on 24th October 1918 and is buried in Quetta Govt. Cem. XXVII. 2692. he is also commemorated on Face 23.,Delhi Memorial (India Gate).
