George Ware

George Alfred Ware was born in Cardiff in 1883. He was baptised on 9th November 1883, the son of Alfred and Elizabeth Ware. In 1891 George, his parents, Alfred and Bessie, and his brothers Evan, William, Henry and Alfred were living in Diamond Street, Roath. In 1901 he was a railway servant, living at 63 Cecil Street, Roath with his widowed mother Bessie and siblings Emily, William, Alfred, Albert and Frederick. By 1911 he had married Annie and they lived at 5 Seymour Street, Cardiff with their daughter Florience. George was employed as a railway contractor. The family later moved to 48 Ludlow Street, Penarth. He served in No. 2 Remount Depot (Woolwich), the Royal Army Service Corps with the rank of Private (service number RX4/232173). George died on 1st February 1918 aged 33 and is buried at XIII. E. 13A., Brookwood Military Cemetery.
