William T Watkins
William Thomas Watkins was born in Cardiff on 9th August 1894, the son of John and Emily Watkins. In 1911 he was living with his parents, brother Harold, sisters Dorothy and Olive and grandmother Louise Gilbert at 29 Dock Road. He served in the Royal Navy aboard HMS “Indefatigable” and was killed as a direct result of enemy action at the Battle of Jutland on 31st May 1916. He was 21. William’s name is also on St Paul’s Roll of Honour which is now in St Augustine’s.
