Frederick R Crimp

Frederick was born in Penarth in 1889. He was baptised on 6th June 1889. Frederick was the son of Robert and Sarah Crimp and the brother of John, Alice, Violet, Ernest and Annie. In 1911 he was a horse driver and the family lived at 32 Salop Street. From Army records – son of Robert and Sarah, brother of Philip John, Ernest Charles, Violet Laura, Annie May and Alice Sarah of 32 Salop St. Frederick served in 16th Heavy Battery, Clearing Office, the Royal Garrison Artillery. He died in 1919, aged 30, of diabetes caused by his military service. From Army records – Enlisted 1914, described as a labourer. He was 5ft 6½ins tall and had an expanded chest measurement of 35½ins. He was discharged in 1918.
