Albert C Williams

Albert Cyril Williams was born at Rumney, Monmouth. He was the husband of Ethel Williams, of 8, Plymouth Rd., Penarth. Albert may have been the son of John and Sarah Williams of New Foundout, Caerphilly Road, Whitchurch, Cardiff and worked as a market gardener. Albert C Williams married Ethel Smith in Cardiff early in 1914. They had 2 children. The son of Mr & Mrs John Williams of 44 Clive Place he was a fruiterer and greengrocer (from ‘Penarth Times’). He served in the 8th Battalion, the Tank Corps. His rank was Corporal and his service number was 202614 or 202014. Albert died of wounds on 26th March 1918 aged 25 and is buried in VIII. I. 167., Boulogne Eastern Cemetery. He formerly served in the Machine Gun Corps (service number 38715).
