Thomas Athol or Athol Thomas Gibson

Thomas was born in Cardiff on 11th March 1878, the son of Thomas and Mary Gibson. Thomas Athol Gibson was married to Elizabeth, nee Pyman, who was born in Penarth but living in Porthcawl in 1911. He was a shop store merchant. Thomas served in the 3rd Battalion, the Prince of Wales’s Volunteers (South Lancashire Regiment) with the rank of Lieutenant or Captain. He died on 21st October 1914. Promoted Lieutenant in September 1914 (from British Army, Bond of Sacrifice).
